Just like any other Thursday, youth group begun. I as always trying to be welcoming met a very peculiar and handsome young man. He came for a hand shake and I gave him a hug. He smiled at me and I realized how beautiful his eyes were. I smiled back and hoped I would get to know him. Through the years we had our ups and downs in friendship but begun to get really close. He was and always will be an amazing friend. My best friend.
Many times I remember pushing away this feeling, because I didn’t know it would be permanent, I didn’t know that it would be reciprocated. Once he expressed his feelings for me, and I confessed mine to him, begun the praying and the fasting, and the discernment of a wise choice. Though the waiting we learned a lot of things about each other but at the end of the day I realized I didn’t have a choice. My heart had made up it’s mind and there was no denying it. To the mountains of Mission Hills he took me, on our very first date. So nervous we both were for nothing because the night went by in laughter and incontrolable smiles. He took me to the most beautiful view as the sun set and he asked me to give him a chance to get to know each other. To journey on the possibility that this could be the beginning our our lives. He asked my father for permission to date me and with his blessing we begun our journey.
It all begun on a romantic sunset horseback ride in the mountains of Calabasas. We enjoyed our time together and relaxed and bashed in the beauty of nature and God’s creation. After enjoying an incredible experience we headed up to the main deck where we found Christmas lights, a chimney fire, and rose petals all over the ground. With tears in my eyes I held him tightly, my heart wanting to escape my chest. Taking me by the hand he asked me to be his partner in this journey through life. Though accompany him in all the adventures and to create amazing memories. And I said YES!!!
