Trevor and Mariah first met at a young age playing little league baseball, never imagining that years later they would be inseparable. During their freshman year history class, Trevor overheard Mariah talking about Braum’s. He told her he’d pick it up for her if she let him have the shake. She of course said yes, completely unaware that this would be the beginning of something beautiful. They went to prom together, cheered each other on as a player and cheerleader, and built a genuine, everlasting love that only grew stronger throughout their high school years. After graduating from PHS, they attended LCC before moving to Lawrence where Mariah pursued her degree at KU and Trevor pursued his degree at FHSU. In Lawrence, their dreams began to take shape as they grew closer than ever, built their first home together, and adopted their perfect kitty child, Ivy. After three years of cherished memories, they graduated and began their next adventure in Kansas City. They were finally living the life their high school selves had once only dreamed of. In January 2025, they took a breathtaking trip to California that was a week straight out of a fairytale. While a blizzard hit back home, they drove up the West Coast, shared long talks on the beach, and soaked in the beauty of the ocean. On January 6th, while driving through the Santa Monica Mountains, Mariah thought they were just headed to a wine tasting. Trevor pulled off to a scenic overlook “to take pictures,” and as Mariah admired the stunning view, Trevor prepared to ask the question that would make both of their dreams come true. Dropping to one knee, he asked her to marry him. Mariah’s answer was obviously yes. That night ended with a moonlit walk on the beach reminiscing on every moment that brought them to where they are. When they returned to Kansas City, the blizzard conditions still lingered which allowed them to spend every moment of their first week engaged together. From late night drives and dates, to sneaking out just to be with each other, Trevor and Mariah’s story is filled with love, laughter, and desire for a life together. From little league teammates, to high school sweethearts, to college partners, and now soon-to-be husband and wife, their journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. And the best part? This is only the beginning.
