We officially met on the very last day of finals at MTSU in 2014. Percy approached me and casually asked, “Are you ready for that final?” I answered without looking up, “I guess so,” not thinking anything of it. When I finally looked up to see who was speaking to me, I instantly panicked! It was the guy I had seen around campus a few times, but knew absolutely nothing about. The timing or distance had never been right for us to connect before. To make it even more surreal, he had previously been a guest speaker in one of my classes, so this moment felt completely unexpected. We chatted briefly while walking to our classes. He wished me luck, and we said our goodbyes. Seconds later, he turned around, caught back up to me, and asked for my number. We kept in touch casually after his graduation. A month later we went on our first date. From there, everything began to unfold. We dated for over a year. We did part ways, but fate had other plans and brought us back together in late 2019. In 2020, we welcomed our amazing little boy Lennox into the world. Since then, we have been growing together—learning, evolving, and navigating life as parents, as individuals, and as partners. In July 2025, surrounded by close family and friends, Percy proposed. God’s timing has always been our foundation. He has guided our journey through seasons of growth, patience, and understanding. He has been shaping us both individually and together; preparing us for a love rooted in faith, intention, and commitment, as we prepare for this "last final:" Marriage.
