Shortly after moving to California, Mariah went to Disneyland with some new friends. That same day, Nick was invited to Disneyland by his friend. At the end of a long day, Mariah was on her way back to her car, and decided she wanted to take the tram instead of walking through Downtown Disney. She decided to get in line behind two guys and two kids, as it was the shortest line. Before she knew it, the cute guy in front of her turned around and asked her how her day was. They had what Nick calls their "15 minute speed-date" on the tram ride back to their cars, and he asked for her number. She gave him an area code (401) number and he thought it was a fake, but decided to call her three days later anyways. After a five hour first date at sunrise in Huntington Beach, they knew they were in love and the rest is history!

This past year, Mariah decided she wanted to spend time with her family for Thanksgiving for the first time since 2016. Little did she know, Nick was planning something BIG. Mariah's sister Katie invited her to go ice skating by the Newport Bridge on Tuesday, November 23rd, and along came her mom and Katie's husband as well. While making her way down to the ice rink, Katie wanted to snap a few pictures at the lighthouse overlooking the bridge before getting on the ice. While Mariah walked down to the water, there came Nick, out from behind the lighthouse with a bouquet of flowers and said he had something very important to ask her, and got down on one knee! He asked her to marry him, and she said clearly said YES!
