Our Story

Our story began in 2013, when we met as teenagers in high school through our youth groups. Our groups came together to participate in a dance competition, and somewhere between practices, a simple act of kindness sparked a connection. One day, when Micah needed a ride home, Mariah offered to take him. From that moment on, a friendship began. Though our paths crossed more than once over the years, the timing never quite lined up. We kept orbiting each other without ever fully landing, eventually we found our way back to one another. In doing so, we discovered a beautiful surprise: our families had known each other all along, with histories already intertwined in ways we never realized. With that foundation of shared roots and old connections, everything between us suddenly felt meant to be. In 2020, after the passing of Mariah’s grandfather, Micah reached out to offer his condolences. A thoughtful message that went unanswered for quite some time. Fast forward to March 2022… while going through old messages, Mariah realized one conversation had been left on read for nearly two years. With a laugh and a little courage, a reply was finally sent and that one message changed everything. From that day forward, we never stopped talking. Getting to know each other again felt less like starting over and more like remembering a language we had always spoken. As we reconnected, Micah shared that he had always had a crush on Mariah, something she never knew. We discovered quickly that we are two sides of the same coin; different, yet perfectly matched. Even our family memories began to overlap in new and meaningful ways, deepening our love even more. On September 15, 2022, we made it official and became inseparable ever since. Our love continued to grow, rooted in friendship, faith, and intention. We always knew we would find each other one day, and from the beginning, we agreed to keep God at the center of our journey. The traits we lack in ourselves, we find in one another, and our greatest joy is helping each other grow in every part of life. On February 15, 2025, during a beautiful celebration in Cabo, Mexico for Mariah’s 30th birthday, we said “yes” to forever. Now, we are excitedly preparing to say “I do” on October 15, 2026. At the heart of our love story is a simple truth: what was once timing finally became destiny and it all began with friendship that was never truly lost.
