Matt and Mariah have known each other since freshman year of highschool, always in the same group of friends, but never actually friends. Freshman, sophomore and junior year passed with no real thought of the other, until the first week of senior year when Matt walked in with a fresh summer tan and a new haircut, Mariah was hooked. They had 3 classes back to back with each other that year. Which in high school is more than enough time to get a crush. They became pretty inseparable during spring break and ended up going to senior prom together. Soon after graduation they made it "official", and have grown up together ever since.

During the pandemic with no vacations plans set for the summer, Matt & Mariah got in the car a took a trip to their favorite little beach town, Carmel. They spent the afternoon wine tasting and going to their favorite cheese shop. They planned to spend the evening relaxing on the beach with their pup, Myla. Matt had other plans, he set up his go pro to get a sunset shot, he looked over and says "there's only one thing more that would make this perfect" he got down on one knee and proposed. Mariah was shocked, surprised but most of all so happy she "officially" gets to spend forever with her best friend.
