We finally met in home economics class in the 8th grade. I say, "finally" because I'd had a crush on Blair for a while - two school years to be exact. We'd never had any classes together, but during the final semester of middle school - right before each of us would be heading off to separate high schools - he walked into the class. A mutual friend got the ball rolling and it wasn't long before Blair and I were inseparable.
Blair proposed at Chama Gaúcha Brazilian Steakhouse in Buckhead under the guise of a welcome back dinner for his oldest sister. Upon walking in I saw my mother, father, and brother as well as his immediate family all holding signs asking if I would marry him. Eve, our daughter, was also wearing a shirt that read, "Mommy, will you marry daddy?" -- I was speechless, but after getting past my initial shock I said, "yes!"
