Question

What currency can I use in Sint Maarten?

Answer

The Dutch side of Sint Maarten uses the US Dollar. If you are planning to visit or stay on the French side, the Euro is used, but the US Dollar is also widely accepted.

Question

How do I get around Sint Maarten?

Answer

That depends on how much you want to see and do! Rental cars are a great option for guests looking to explore the island. Find our rental car recommendations under the Travel page. Taxis are also fairly easily accessible but can be pricey for longer trips. Please note that Uber/rideshare is not available. You can use SXM's Taxi App, which will connect you to a network of drivers. For a taxi dispatcher, contact Rudy (on WhatsApp) at +1-721-586-5015. Rudy will connect you with a reputable taxi driver. Good local car rental companies include Leisure, Exclusive, Hardy's, and StarLite.

Question

Is there a wedding registry?

Answer

Since we will be travelling back to Canada, we do not have a wedding registry. For guests wishing to give a gift, monetary gifts will be graciously accepted in our wedding card box at the reception or can be sent via e-transfer to mariacameron2026@gmail.com.

Question

What else should I know about visiting Sint Maarten?

Answer

There is significant rush-hour traffic in Sint Maarten. Always check Google Maps and avoid driving in rush-hour from 4-6pm if possible. If you have reservations and are visiting other parts of the island, budget extra time. Also, be prepared for mosquitoes and a very high UV index! Like many Caribbean islands, there are many mosquitoes. We strongly recommend bringing and wearing bug spray everyday, especially in the evenings. The sun is very strong in Sint Maarten. Please wear SPF and stay sun safe!
