As our wedding will take place at an Orthodox Christian skete (small monastery), we kindly ask guests to dress modestly and respectfully in keeping with the sacred setting. For women: modest dresses or skirts below the knee and covered shoulders are appreciated. Head coverings are welcome but not required. For men: long pants and collared shirts are requested.
Plenty of parking is available. Please follow the flow of other guests so entering and exiting the property is simple and safe. Thank you. Entrance will be through the door with the red cross.
The church is air conditioned and there will be some seating available. Although, standing is customary. Seating may be available to those who especially need it.
The Orthodox wedding service lasts about 45–60 minutes. It includes Scripture readings, hymns, and prayers. Guests will primarily be standing throughout the service, though seating may be available as needed. You are welcome to observe quietly and be fully present—no prior experience or participation is expected. Children are warmly welcome to attend. As the service may be longer and prayerful in nature, parents are welcome to step outside briefly with their child if a break is needed and rejoin the service when ready. We kindly ask all guests to help maintain a peaceful and respectful atmosphere throughout the ceremony.
