We met in the fall of 2020, when the world was still pretty locked-down. There were no restaurants or bars, movies or group activities for us to do! So, we got to know each other through a number of good old-fashioned stay-home dates! We carved pumpkins, made bird houses, watched medical shows and critiqued everything wrong that they did in them and quoted "The Office" to each other; it was destined to be love. In December 2021, we took the next big step and moved in together. Then, six months later, we adopted the furry love of our lives, Lando! Life took on a whole new routine and we really felt like (kind of) parents. We figured after this, we would be ready for our next big adventure...engagement?! But no, not so fast. I thought maybe I'd get an engagement ring for my birthday? Christmas? New Years? Valentines?? OUR ANNIVERSARY??! After many discussions of "Are you going to marry me or NOT?!" Sean popped the question on May 5th, 2023, in one of our favorite spots to visit, Petoskey. I was NOT expecting it, which was Sean's plan all along! In true Michigan weather fashion, it was 40 degrees and raining in May. I took off my gloves, Sean slipped the ring on, and we ran all along the beach, smiling and shouting WE'RE ENGAGED! There wasn't a single person around because it was freezing out but we didn't care. It truly was one of the best days, and I will never forget it. There have been countless times in our relationship that we look at each other and say "I know you're my person." Whether it's after I ask Sean to please not go 90 miles and hour, when he's actually only going 45 miles and hour, or when I walk in on Sean watching a battle scene from Lord of the Rings for the 500th time - we just look at the other and smile. We can't wait to spend the rest of our lives doing just that. ❤️
