One fateful August night in 2021, Maria met Marshall at a local venue in downtown Austin (Empire Control Room) after introducing herself to the cute saxophonist she'd seen on stage. Their first embrace came a few weeks later on the dance floor after yet another of Marshall’s concerts. Soon enough, Marshall also became a fan of Maria's art, the two were collaborating on art installations, DJ sets, and shows, falling in love along the way. Together, they discovered a shared love for nightlife, kayaking, exploring Texas, and all things creative. After conquering all the music venues and art warehouses in Austin, Marshall and Maria followed their ambitions to Seattle where they supported each other through graduate school. They made a home in West Seattle where they continue to weave their lives together among the cedars. In February 2026, Marshall proposed in Maria’s home state of Hawaii after seeing the spontaneous breach of a humpback whale… but before the volcano erupted. Maria and Marshall's wedding will be a cosmic culmination of the things that brought them together: music, nature, community and commitment.
We stepped out as a couple on Halloween in 2021, so our anniversary is already a festive Oct 31. We’re tickled that it won’t ever change, and to celebrate in costumed reverie with our loved ones. While we want the ceremony to remain classic, we’ll have a Halloween theme for the opening party, so those young and old can participate in the Halloween fun. Stay tuned!
Wimberley is a special town along the Blanco river about an hour southwest of Austin and an hour northeast of San Antonio. It's known for its swimming holes, charming markets and beautiful ranches and it is one of our favorite places in Central Texas.
We had our eyes photographed in Seattle by Iris Portraits at Pike Place Market.
