Travel Note
Vaporetto These small passenger ferries are Venice’s main public transport. Single rides cost €7.50; for frequent use, get a timed pass for unlimited travel within a set period (one-/two-/three-/seven-day passes cost €20/30/40/60). Tickets and passes are available docksides from ACTV ticket booths and ticket vending machines, or tobacconists. We suggest downloading the AVM Venice app for tickets and schedules. Gondola Daytime rates run to €80 for 40 minutes (six passengers maximum) or €100 for 40 minutes from 7 pm to 8 am, not including songs (negotiated separately) or tips. Traghetto Locals use this daytime public gondola service (€2) to cross the Grand Canal between bridges. Water taxi Sleek teak boats offer taxi services for €15 plus €2 per minute, plus €5 for pre-booked services and extra for night-time, luggage, and large groups. Ensure the meter is working when boarding.
Travel Note
There are a bunch of both paid and free parking options in Venice. We recommend the following: - https://venicecitypark.com/en/ - paid, you can book it in advance. - if you simply type Park Petroli (bus stop) in your GPS, it will lead you to a free parking, about 50 meters away from Venice city park. Both options require taking a bus to get to Venice, the ride takes about 5 minutes. You can buy the tickets via the AVM app (you need the 75 min bus ride ones, be sure to activate it before departure!) or before boarding (cash only, cost 1.5 euro per person)
