We met in 2017 during our first year of law school at Penn State Law, though for that first year, we were “just classmates.” After a year Eric worked up the courage to ask Maria out on a date and the rest is history.

After a year and a half in law school together, Eric finally worked up the courage to ask Maria for a date. Our first date was on December 21, 2018, in Hudson, Ohio, Maria's hometown. Eric was visiting family in Ohio over winter break and asked Maria if he’d meet her for an afternoon. When Maria suggested they meet in Hudson, Eric quickly assured her that was a great idea and “not far” from where he was staying. Maria later found out that “not far” was still an hour and a half drive. What she didn’t know was that 90 minutes wasn’t far in Eric’s mind, considering he made the 5 hour drive from PA to OH that break with the main goal of finally going on a date with her. We had the perfect afternoon strolling around town after enjoying lunch—grabbing a coffee, picking out a Christmas gift for Eric’s mom together and sharing stories about ourselves.
