The backdrop to our proposal, and Maria's favorite place in Kansas City. The museum houses an impressive collection of art work, and includes the famous Kansas City shuttlecock sculptures on the front and back lawns of the museum. It is truly a gem of Kansas City. Admission is free except for certain exhibits. It is open until 9 PM on Fridays and 10am to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays. You can also dine at the wonderful Rozzelle Court located inside the museum.
Not only is this America's official World War I museum and memorial (and home to the most comprehensive collection of WWI objects in the world!), but it also provides the most popular and arguably the best view of downtown Kansas City. Explore the museum, walk the grounds, take in the views, and, if you're feeling brave, head up to the top of the tower (to reach the top, guests ride an elevator and climb 45 steps).
