About Latin MassAbout Latin Mass

The Wedding Website of Maria Sadowski and Christopher Stupak
Our wedding ceremony will be celebrated in the Extraordinary Form, also known as the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM). It is performed almost entirely in the Latin language, which was standard practice prior to the 1960s. The priest typically faces the altar (away from the people), a posture known as “ad orientem”. Practicing Catholics in good standing (not in a state of mortal sin) receive Communion directly on the tongue, while kneeling at the altar rail. This form of the Mass is known for its reverence, silence, traditional music, and fortified prayers, with roots tracing back to the early Church.
