It all started with love. In tennis, that is. We met in high school on the tennis team. Andry, the captain of the team, quickly recognized that Maria was the best tennis player he had ever met (Maria insisted this fact be included). Naturally, wanting to improve his game, he asked her to coach him after practice one day. Before long, our post-practice coaching sessions turned into boba runs (shout out to Pearls) and sunset walks through Lincoln Park. Maria's parents must have thought she was incredibly dedicated to tennis considering how much time she was spending "practicing." Somewhere between tennis matches, boba dates, and pretending to work on our backhands, we became inseparable. Our next chapter brought us both to the University of Washington. From squeezing into a twin-sized bed in the dungeon that was McMahon Hall to marathon League of Legends sessions on the second floor of Odegaard Library, we've truly done it all together. We survived finals, celebrated victories, cheered each other on, and somehow graduated with degrees despite spending an alarming amount of time together. Then came the pandemic and a new adventure. Maria pursued her dream of becoming a veterinarian while Andry continued building his career. You'd think the distance, long hours, and constant life changes would have made things difficult, but somehow they only made us stronger—although Andry still managed to drive Maria crazy from an entirely different state. Not long after, we started our little family with Moose and Kobe, moved into our home in Beacon Hill, and began building the life we had always dreamed about. We launched our careers as a veterinarian and a corporate Costco employee. What can we say? We are big fans of (hot) dogs and costco. These days, you'll usually find us eating our way around the world, idolizing our dogs, Moose and Kobe, or Maria yelling at Andry to stop ball hogging on the pickle ball court. Through every season of life, we've always been each other's best friend, biggest supporter, and favorite person. What started as a shared love of tennis turned into the greatest adventure of our lives, and we can't wait to celebrate the next chapter with all of you.
