As you know, May 23, 2021 was set to be a joyous occasion. This was a date that we looked forward to soon after our engagement and a ceremony we dreamed of since we first began our relationship. It brought us great joy to hear how many of you were eagerly awaiting our wedding day. It is with great sadness that we have decided to postpone our wedding from May 23, 2021 to May 1, 2022. As many of you know, our family has been mourning the untimely passing of our beloved father, Elias Kalavrezos. We rescheduled the wedding for a year later to allow us to properly mourn this loss. Our Father was a kind, strong, and hardworking man. He loved the simple things in life. He loved to barbecue for friends and family. He looked forward to working on his garden every spring. He loved to joke around, always ready to let out a dad joke at the dinner table. But there is nothing he loved more than his daughters. For months he would talk about the wedding, preparing for it, picking out his tuxedo, and mulling over which song he wanted for the father/daughter dance. His passing has left a void in our hearts. Thank you to all who have reached out during this tragic time in our lives. Your sympathy and support has made this difficult moment in our lives a little more bearable. Maria and Andreas met at the Goya Soccer Tournament in April of 2011. Both were in between games at the time and Maria was eating her favorite, an Italian sub from Olde Towne Deli, when Andreas commented that he could "smell those onions from here" and the rest is history! They connected on facebook later that same night and were talking to each other consistently for 2 weeks before Andreas asked Maria to be his date to his Senior Prom. How lucky were they that Andreas' Senior Prom fell on the Friday before Goya Olympics and were able to spend that entire weekend together. They ended Olympics sitting on the bleachers together as medals were being awarded and Andreas tells Maria that he wants to make this official. They have been together ever since and will be celebrating 11 years together in May 2022.
