In a delightful twist straight out of a romantic comedy, our story began in the college library. As an outsider from Brazil, Maria was eager to find a sense of community and reached out to the Catholic group on campus. That very day, she found herself meeting Alan. Despite her nerves and shaky English, Alan's sweet patience put her at ease as they talked for far longer than they anticipated. He offered to drive her home, asked her out, and that was the beginning of their beautiful journey together. On the next day, Valentine's Day, little did Maria know that she'd be meeting Alan's parents on our very first date! "It was not on our plans at all!
