Love in the time of Covid

2021 ,The positive aftermath

I've always found it interesting when people find things on the first try, for me that was never the case. If you wanted something, you searched and fought for it. The same applied to dating. I tried online dating well before Covid and it was, to say the least disappointing. However, it wasn't until Covid had past its first year did I realize how empty it truly was. The streets and trains of Manhattan were empty as well as the potential dates. One day as I rode the trains and I saw all these ads for an app called Hinge. I decided it was worth a try even if the rest of the world wasn't interested. I opened this account in 2021 thinking it would be similar to all the other apps I used. I came across this girl who enjoyed traveling and french fries. And to my surprise we matched! I was intrigued by her interest in potatoes (most girls were not that brave to confess their love for french fries). I opened the conversation by asking her what types of potatoes she liked… Giving up on organically meeting love, NYC MTA billboards kept giving me signs of hope -join online dating. On a Monday ride to work I decided to dive in and open an account. However, the universe and its finest sense of humor decided to shut down for months. The world of online dating and the whole world was so new to me. One day I received a message asking me what is my favorite type of potatoes. It was such an odd question though, intriguing . We kept chatting for hours and the rest is history…
