We Are Getting Married!

It was a Friday night and did not want to put on the dancing shoes as many nights for the past 13 years previously. It was a Jack and Coke and stay home kind of night I was feeling. I decided to scroll through my Facebook when a mutual friend posted what was everyone drink that night? I replied Jack and Coke and Beto immediately replied Corona. Seconds later, I received a private message asking for an add on. Before I had replied I went to stalk his page.... I figured he was out of state what harm could be done? HMMMM...get a text the next day stating he was on his way to Chicago because he was relocating.... yikes!! My first thoughts...stalker!! I took him all about one day to come visit me and I had him a surprise just in case he was a serial killer. I had MY WHOLE FAMILIA in front including the dog just in case there was any funny business. The look on his face priceless! The day was the first day of many days returning just to hang out. It became so often that I had asked one day, “When was the last time you were home?” At that moment it hit me, and I started to panic asking why there was his toothbrush in my washroom? LBVS. It was hard to even fathom the idea that I was in something so serious. After panic mode subsided I just got used to him being there and eventually we decided that he move in. In my 17 years of divorce I had lived with no one and this was a BIG step for me. He was not like any other man I had known. It was a different feel from a once married one sided relationship to a 100% give it your all and make you feel like a queen every day. Who knew that four and a half years later I would agree to be his wife. The once upon a time kind a girl who said she would never ever again……

It started out a normal birthday kinda day. Plans to go to dinner and that's it. I reminded him days earlier to let my parents know the plan because every year they crash our romantic evening. So it wont be a surprise I had gotten used to the every year ritual. This year he said, "it's just going to be us." I was confused and asked several times, "WHY?" I almost was late to our dinner reservations because on that same day I decided to adopt a cat..oyyy! Damn traffic! Dinner was good new restaurant to us, but then he wanted to walk downtown by the Christmas tree. I gave him the look of death. I said, really in these shoes and shawl! On top of it no parking on Michigan Avenue?! I said lets go home. LOL He was quiet the whole ride home. We finally get home and NO Parking as usual. Damn Cicero! I figured he would drop me off as he has a million times so I don't have to walk. NO!! He decides to take me with him to walk through the trenches. Ugh so I stay quiet and he parks in back and starts talking about how he is so happy with me and my family and i look at him like can we go in?! So we start walking home and I make it to the top stair and he stops me again. LOL Talking about come down here and he started reminiscing of the first day we met how I tortured him with my whole family in front, etc. I am not going to lie I was a little frustrated, but then my heart stopped!! He did the thing! He dropped down on his knee on the very same step we met on I realized I ruined his perfect moment. SIGH. But trying to catch my breathe I seen him reach in to his pocket and it was there...no tears, SHOCK. After I said YES I asked, "are you sure you want to marry me?" LMAO pobrecito. As I agreed to be his wife, I had to ask...What if I would of said no? He looked at me with gentle eyes and said...I would of waited for you. Life seems pretty different now looking at my fiancé! We are excited for you to celebrate this next chapter with us!
