Make your trip into a vacation with a tour of Yellowstone National Park, a treasure in our backyard. if you have time, consider taking the family down to Old Faithful to see the geyser erupt! The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone is another great stop. For any wanting to make it a true western vacation, lodging and tour options for the park can be found at www.yellowstonenationalparklodges.com
Welcoming visitors to the historic lodge and natural hot springs since 1900, Chico is a staple for both locals and visitors. The pools are a wonderful way to soak off the dust of exploring Paradise Valley, and they offer various lodging options for anyone wanting to get a bit further away (Please note: We LOVE Chico lodging, but it is about 35 minutes from town/wedding location).
History museum with permanent & temporary exhibits on Yellowstone Nation Park, plus activities.
Pine Creek Hike to the falls is the perfect day hike for all ages and activity levels. 1.5 mile hike to the splendid waterfall. Easy level. Highly popular trail- you will see many other hikers on trail to the falls. We would say you don't need bear spray, but if you feel like you want some just borrow from Margy or Jeff.
If you enjoy a good brew, then stop by Katabatic while you're in town. Family friendly atmosphere that also has a plethora of board games you can enjoy with your drink.
A great way to see Montana from a different view and to cool off is a river rental from Rubber Ducky! Jeff and Margy have rented kayaks and inner tubes for a fun day of floating the Yellowstone River. Our favorite float we recommend is the "Bird Float"- 3 1/2 hours of exploring the river from Grey Owl to Mallards Rest.
