Margot & Adrian were set up through a mutual connection. Tamisha is an on going event client & friend of Margot’s at her business - Opal 28. At a summer time lunch, Tamisha mentioned she would love to set Margot up with her step-brother Adrian. As is Margot’s tenacious go-getter ways, she agreed without hesitation. Tamisha’s social prowess wanted to set up a “fake” happy hour with multiple friends to see if Adrian & Margot would make a connection organically. Margot & Adrian separately, vetoed that idea & went straight to making a text introduction. Adrian, very involved in his LInkedIn, searched for Margot to find she had an outdated profile with no photo. Margot was annoyed to find Adrian did not exist on Instagram. After a series of text messages & finding a meeting time - they settled on a Monday evening at Paydirt, a bar near Opal 28.
A father of two beautiful daughters, Parker (17) & Stella (14), Adrian's schedule is full with co-parenting, enjoying friends, & continuing to grow his thriving career in the future of transportation. When Tamisha approached him with a potential (hot) date, he agreed emphatically, yet it wasn’t surprising that it was put into his calendar along with the todo’s, not given much thought until the day of the date. Margot arrived at Paydirt, a little late, but in no delay became face-to-face with a man whose presence extremely charming. His piercing blue eyes, kind features & spark of a smile elicited an immediate radiating effect on Margot, she felt herself beaming. To say Adrian was immediately smitten would be on point, he felt Margot’s laughter infectious, her confidence irresistible. She laughed at his stories & he watched the hours quickly tick by. After a couple drinks, they called it a night & knew they would see each other again - soon, the following Saturday at a Timbers game.
After a few dates & a few battles between the head & the heart, Margot & Adrian gave into the benevolent force they could no longer shy from. Dates spent in wine country, shows at Doug Fir, pumpkin carving with Parker & Stella and evenings out at fine restaurants. Margot scaled back her global travel to explore the possibility of "doing all the things" with Adrian. This made him elated! To anyone who knows both Adrian & Margot, it's easy to understand how they balance one another's personality, celebrate their dreams & delight in soaring hand-in-hand through whatever life hands them. Their love is mature & respectful, a blending of two worlds with grace & acceptance. As far as love stories go, Margot & Adrian's is a classic—a serendipitous meeting spurred by a mutual connection. This love did not evolve slowly, fate had something else in store. A passionate, deepening love, that feels ancient even in it’s infancy, one that demands a leap of faith, a love that will continue to unfold.

For the first couple months of our courtship Emily was living and working side by side Margot in Portland at Opal 28 - she was there for the entirety of the courtship, watching our love unfold.
