The year was 2018. Sam had been living in New York City for just about 2 years. Dave had been living in the city for just over 2 weeks. As the fates (and the Hinge dating app algorithms) would have it, that was all they needed to cross paths. Dave took Sam on their first date in the East Village, and there is where their relationship blossomed.
