The wedding is indoor in the chapel. (Since the chapel isn’t a practicing chapel, there will be no communion at the ceremony.) Though the wedding will be in May, we don’t want to risk any chances of rain. The ceremony, cocktail hours, and reception will all be located at The Hawthorn House. No need to drive anywhere else!
Yes. The venue provides tons of parking spaces and is handicap accessible!
When we send out the save the date cards, there will be RSVP cards to follow. On the RSVP cards there will be a date to when you need to RSVP. We want to make sure we have the exact and proper headcount.
Unfortunately we have a guest only list to stay on budget. Our celebration is RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your wedding invitation. Thank you
While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us. The only children that will be at the wedding are the children of the wedding party.
There will not be a certain hotel blocked off for wedding quest, though in the travel section on the website, we do have recommendations of where to stay and the closest airport. The closest airport is the MCI airport. Kansas City International Airport.
Yes we do! That will be in the things to do section on the website. Downtown Parkville has a ton of fun places to try out and go to.
The dress code is formal attire. Example: nice shirts and dress pants. (Suites and ties are optional).
There are reserved seats for the family. There will be ushers to help assist where you should be seated. (You can sit on whatever side you want to.)
We will be having an “unplugged” ceremony. phones off and no pictures during the ceremony. You will definitely be allowed to take pictures during the reception! After the photographers and videographer are done editing the pictures and videos, we will send you a link to the pictures and videos.
After the ceremony there will be a cocktail hour. During that time the wedding party will be taking their pictures. Once the cocktail hour is done, and the wedding party is done taking pictures, the reception will begin!

Yes. The venue does have an open bar and the tips are covered. No need to tip!
Yes! You can definitely bring your gifts/cards to the wedding! You can also ship them to the provided address.
Due to the space limitations of our venue for the rehearsal dinner, we unfortunately have to limit the rehearsal dinner guest list to those who will be in the wedding party. We apologize in advance to those who are not included.
