We met in middle school in the 7th grade after my family moved from North Carolina to Florida, but it was just in passing. My 9th grade year of high school I had become good friends with Jason's cousin. However it wasn't until I was at her house one day that I realized they were related. It seems that after that, Jason has always been apart of my life. After high school, I moved back to North Carolina and we lost touch. I remember speaking to his cousin and telling her to give him my number. Jason and I would talk everyday for hours. Jason moved to North Carolina and we have been together since.
September 11, 2018, was a Tuesday. I was at the gym when Jason called and suggested we go to one of our favorite restaurants for dinner. I said yes because it meant I did not have to cook. Before going out, I suggested we get something fast; because I was tired from my workout, but he insisted that we go out. When we got into the restaurant, I noticed Jason handed something to the waitress; I could not make out what he gave her. So I asked, he said he had a coupon. In my mind, I thought this was why we are going here on a Tuesday, and I am getting an appetizer. Dinner was awesome; I could not eat another bite. The waitress came and asked if we wanted dessert; I quickly said no. Jason said we would have one to go. I thought to myself this must be an awesome coupon. The dessert comes out and the waitress says because it was so big they had to put it in two boxes. Naturally, I grabbed the largest box. I opened it and began to tell Jason how good the dessert looked. He opened the small box and said it looked good too. So I said, we have to try it now; ask the waitress for some spoons. Jason gets up with the little box in his hand, and I am thinking he is going to get the spoons himself. Then I see the ring box, and he got down on one knee and I said yes.
