Gunnar met Tristan early on during his time at UND as well through Jake as he is also from Brainerd, MN. Tristan is also a pilot and was a roomate of Gunnar's for the longest of anyone - 4 years at UND and 2 years in Boise, Idaho. Tristan and Gunnar spent most of their free time together hunting and fishing in ND and ID whenever they weren't flying!

Matt is a high school classmate of Gunnar's who recently married Gunnar's sister Anneka in September of 2025. Matt, Anneka, Margaret and Gunnar go on many ski trips and traveling adventures together whenever their schedules allow.

Chris, from Brainerd, MN, is a good friend of Jake and Tristan from growing up and is married to a family friend of Gunnar's. Chris and Gunnar spend their time together in the BWCA and fishing whenever they get the opportunity.

Brendan is also one of Gunnar's best friends from high school from Grand Rapids, MN. Brendan and Gunnar were hockey teammates throughout their time in GR and both shared a love for anything outdoors or hockey related.

Jeff and Gunnar met when he moved to Boise, Idaho and became very close friends through Gunnar's longtime friend Kenzie. Jeff and Gunnar spend all of their fall together hunting deer and elk across the Idaho mountains.

Eli is from Detroit Lakes, MN, where both of Gunnar's parents are from and Gunnar and Eli became friends at a very young age when he came to Eagle Nest Lodge on a fishing trip with Gunnar's uncle. Since then, Eli and Gunnar have been hunting and fishing together any chance they get and have been able to spend more and more time together as he and his wife now live in Idaho as well.
