We were instant best friends. After meeting over a Scrabble game in our freshman floor common room (a game initiated by, in Margaux's opinion, a rather intense young man with shocking blonde hair), we found any excuse we could to spend time together. We ate dinner together every night, joined clubs together, went to concerts and parties together, watched TV shows together. Tyler later told Margaux that he was never that interested in Dexter and Mad Men; he just wanted an excuse to spend more time with her. The first year of college was full of eye-opening, horizon-expanding experiences, and we were both delighted and amazed to find someone who understood us in this new world. A year of intense friendship led to our official relationship just a few days into sophomore year. Since then, we have strengthened our bond as best friends all while growing up together. Through the ups and downs of Tyler's band and Margaux's work in criminal justice, we have supported each other to become our best selves whether we needed advice, a shoulder to cry on, or a push in the right direction. Seven years later, we love each other more than ever and are excited to celebrate and affirm our partnership with our families and friends.
