Before you begin your walk, you have to stop at our favorite acai bowl joint, Amazon Juices. After you pick up your bowl of fresh fruity goodness, walk along East Cliff to see the spectacular Santa Cruz ocean views much like Jose and I did on our first date in his hometown.
Capitola Village
Capitola is a quintessential part of any Santa Cruz Beach experience and is one of the best beach towns on the West Coast. Fish, swim, surf, shop, and dine without moving your car.
Beer Thirty
If you are looking for a lo-key local spot, this beer garden and eatery is the way to go. Serving an array of pub grub, bottles, and local brews, Beer Thirty is a great place to enjoy a cold one either indoors or outdoors.
Honeylux Coffee
If you are in desperate need of caffeine the morning after our ceremony, head over to Honeylux. It is a quick ten minute drive from our venue location and serves some of the best espresso in Watsonville.
Natural Bridges State Beach
This park and beach is an excellent vantage point for viewing shore birds, migrating whales, as well as seals and otters playing offshore! Opposite the beach, follow the boardwalk descent into the magical eucalyptus grove sanctuary.
Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
Head over to the iconic oceanfront amusement park and ride two National Historic Landmarks: the Giant Dipper Roller Coaster and the Looff Carousel! If you need a fun lunch spot, check out Coasters Bar and Grill which has it all: delicious bites, bowling, and even karaoke!
Freedom Meat Locker
Specializing in custom cut meat and award-winning smoked meats, this family-owned business is a go-to food stop for us every time we visit Watsonville. Our favorite marinade is the wine and spice on skirt steak. Their signature sandwiches will have your mouth watering. For those of you who like to spoil your fur babies, buy some of their frozen gourmet dog food. Our beloved French bulldog Gracie gives it a paws up!
Rio Del Mar Beach
Just minutes from Aptos, head to Rio del Mar to explore culinary delights while soaking in the beachside bliss.You can take a stroll along the esplanade with expansive views of Monterey Bay. In this part of the county, each beach blends with the next, seemingly one long stretch of shoreline reaching from Capitola all the way to Rio del Mar.
Gizdich Ranch
If you love olallieberry pie as much as the father of the bride does, Gizdich Ranch is a must. Pick your favorite fruit of the season right off the tree or vine; then, picnic among the apple trees and the hills. Make sure to take home a jar (or two) of fresh berry jams, a jug of their fresh pressed apple juice, and savor the best pies on the West Coast.
