Things To Do

Make a weekend out of your time in the Hudson Valley! We have spent many a weekend exploring towns together (along with Derek's four years living in New Paltz) and have curated a list of places in Kingston, New Paltz and the surrounding area.

Stockade District

Kingston, NY 12401

Downtown Kingston and right by our venue! Shop around, grab a bite to eat, and say "Wow, it's so charming here!" (Which is what we did when we first looked at our venue).

Kingston Standard Brewing Co.

22 Jansen Ave, Kingston, NY 12401

Grab some locally brewed beer or a half dozen oysters. We stopped by here while touring Kingston and gave it two thumbs up for a good time.

Brunette Wine Bar

33 Broadway, Kingston, NY 12401

Natural wine on rotation and a great selection of small bites. We went here when touring around Kingston and fell in love with it immediately.

Restaurant Kinsley

301 Wall Street, Kingston, NY 12401
, (845) 768-3620

The restaurant connected to the Hotel Kinsley. We had brunch here right after picking the venue. Breakfast, lunch and dinner options.

Kingston Bread + Bar

43 North Front Street, Kingston, NY 12401
, (845) 802-0021

A convenient place to grab coffee & breakfast. The very first time we visited Kingston together in January we got two hot ciders from here and walked around in single digit weather.

Lola

243 Fair Street, Kingston, NY 12401

Rough Draft Bar & Books

82 John Street, Kingston, NY 12401
, (845) 802-0027

Beers and books, a lot like Derek's English degree program. This bar doubles as a full bookshop so stop by if you want to grab something new to read and a drink on the side.

Dear Kingston

21 Oneil Street, Kingston, NY 12401

Beer garden! Wine, spirits and ciders available as well!

Chleo

288 Fair Street, Kingston, New York 12401

Wine bar and small plates!

Buns Burgers

32 North Front Street, Kingston, NY 12401

Burgers, fries, milkshakes? What more can you ask for! They have gluten free buns and gluten free chicken nuggets!

Outdated, Antique Cafe

314 Wall Street, Kingston, NY 12401
, (845) 331-0030

Breakfast, lunch and antiques? What a combo! Get a sandwich and an old cup set all in one place.

Front Street Tavern

63 North Front Street, Kingston, NY 12401
, (845) 853-8500

New-American style comfort food. Good lunch / dinner options and close by to the hotels of Kingston.

Water Street Market

New Paltz, NY

A New Paltz Staple. Antiques, boutiques, and snack food galore. Get a glass of wine at Jar'd or a cup of coffee from the Mudd Puddle Cafe.

Brooklyn Cider House

New Paltz, NY

Margaux took Derek here for a surprise birthday get together in 2020, after months of being locked down in our 1-bedroom Astoria apartment. Grab a cider, sit by the pond and soak in the Hudson Valley.

Arrowood Farms

Accord, NY

A combination brewery & distillery. We stopped by here during an Accord winter vacation and would highly recommend for anyone who wants a cold beer, a bite to eat and the occasional live music performance.

Minnewaska State Park Preserve

Kerhonkson, NY

One of the staple hiking spots from Derek's time in New Paltz. Over 22,000 acres of trails to explore. Whether you want a casual stroll or you want to break a sweat, there is a trail for you to enjoy.

Wallkill Valley Rail Trail

Kingston, NY

A 22 mile stretch of walking and biking trails that starts in Kingston and runs through Rosendale, New Paltz and ends in Gardiner. You can rent a bike for the day at New Paltz Biking.
