It started on a Saturday afternoon at Barron's Creek winery in downtown McKinney where, unbeknownst to us, Dee and Fabi came up with the idea to introduce us to each other. For context, Dee is the bride's aunt and both Dee and Fabi have been coworkers with the groom for over 10 years. They knew us both well enough to decide that there was a real chance we could connect very well, so after getting our permission, it began. We were both at a place where we figured it wouldn't hurt to try it out, so we started talking that following week. That next weekend, we had our first date. And it was a good one. It started at 6pm on Saturday, April 1st, at the Flying Saucer on the lake. We sat out on the patio, both nervous but willing to try, and just started talking. The conversation was going so well, we completely lost track of time. It wasn't until we noticed the staff picking up for the night that we'd realized six whole hours had passed. So we tabbed out and made our way back to the parking lot. There was a moment where we weren't quite sure how to say goodnight, so we exchanged a hug. And then he went for the kiss. It was the best first date ever. And everything after that felt like pieces falling into place, one at a time leading us straight to this moment. We thank Dee and Fabi for bringing us together and we thank each other for being brave enough to take a chance.
