Dungeons & Dragons have played a key role in our relationship. It kept our friendship together through the years and living in different cities. We first met when a coworker of Margarettes brought her into a D&D group that Joseph was a part of. Margarette played a flirty cleric and Joseph was a Drow looking for vengeance on those that enslaved him. That campaign started a friendship that has been nine years and many campaigns long.
After years of being friends, we realized that what we felt for each other was more than just friendship. It took a lot of talks... and a bit of alcohol for us to admit that we wanted to be with each other more than anything. We have been together for over three years and that is just our start. Joseph proposed to Margarette when they were cleaning... she was covered in dirt and sweat and said to ask her again when she wasn't feeling gross. From that moment they both knew that she would say yes eventually, and she did.
One of our biggest draws we have to each other is our endless strive for what is best for the other; whether that best is spiritually, mentally or physically. We always have an open ear and easy words for whatever may be troubling the other, and encourage, even if a bit strictly, that the other do what they need to be the best version of themselves.
