Best Woman
Anna (she/her) is Margaret’s younger sister, but not by much. Anna and Margaret now live in the same city, having shared Minneapolis in the past. Anna and her husband Zane moved back from the east coast recently, but have fond memories of Margaret and Jonathan visiting their apartment to partake in the Boston delicacies of Goldfish and Ben & Jerry’s. Raising two dogs along the Minneapolis lakes while being a PR maven; you’ll find Anna on the dance floor when Mr. Worldwide is on, and she predicts Ireland for the couple’s worldwide honeymoon.
Best Woman
Claire (she/her) is Margaret’s youngest sibling, but don’t mistake her youth for naivety. She shares Margaret’s love of cribbage, and is making a dangerous bid for most games played (and won) on the family heirloom board from Grandpa Edward Roesler. As the first Dental Therapist in Maine (and most of the east coast), Claire blazes lots of trails, but her favorites are in the fresh snow near Bangor. She firmly believes mashed potatoes are the star of any Thanksgiving dinner.
Bridesperson
You can ask the mother of the bride how long Margaret has been friends with Nicki (she/her), she loves bringing up the origin story. One of three Margaret’s longtime roommates in this line-up, Nicki was the first person to hear of Jonathan asking Margaret out! Nicki keeps it proud Minneapolis with her song pick, Truth Hurts by Lizzo. She predicts an adventurous honeymoon for the couple! Since she’s an avid traveler, she’ll be sought after for advice on that trip!

Having overcome false first impressions at a bowling alley, Steph (she/her) and Margaret have been friends since… well, ask the mother of the bride (no cheating on the origin story!) Proud parents of Ollie, Steph and her husband Sean once again live in the same city as the couple, and all are excited for more time spent together. Roommates for a long time in and after college, Margaret and Steph shared travels, clothes, and time lived in Iowa (though unfortunately not at the same time).

Kayla (she/her), and Margaret solidified their bond sharing a bedroom that was definitely not a bedroom while studying abroad in Greece. Another cribbage lover and roommate, Kayla is also a talented cook and crafter. Though she can easily whip up a masterpiece in the kitchen, Kayla’s big food hot take is that cold pizza is always better. Kayla and her partner Chris love a good bonfire or campout, one shared memory with the couple being a great weekend at camp.

Margaret’s older brother Karl (he/him), developed patience early, having to deal with Margaret scaling into his crib to disturb nap time more than once in the early years. Since then, Karl has stuck with a different childhood pastime more than anyone else in the family. If you want to talk about cycling or technology, he’s your guy. Dog parent to Peaches with partner Tayler, Karl calls Iowa home. Karl loves Indian food and believes it's a cuisine that stands its ground whether it has meat in the dish or not.
Best Man
Matt (he/him) has been friends with Jonathan since they met as roommates immediately post-college, even though Jonathan almost vetoed his addition to the lease. After that hiccup they became fast friends, founding a theater company together, moving to the Twin Cities, then founding another theater company. When asked what his food hot-take was, he replied "we should be eating more bugs and fewer mammals." So you'll have him to thank for the live crickets we're putting in the wedding cake!
Groom's People
Eric (he/him) holds the dubious honor of being Jonathan's oldest friend. In elementary school they used to debate which cartoon character was the most powerful - now that they're grownups, they much more productively debate the byzantine rules of 12-hour-long board games like Twilight Imperium. Eric believes (correctly) that Mr. Brightside is the best wedding dance song. Letting him choose his own photo for the website was a mistake.
Groom's People
Jonathan and Bree (she/her) have been friends since college and neighbors since shortly after college. She knows all the best breweries and ciderworks in the Twin Cities, and makes a mean chili. Do not try to play boardgames with her if you care about winning; she'll run circles around you. At a guess, Bree predicts that Jonathan will get so engrossed in perfecting his vows that he'll accidentally miss the ceremony, but all will turn out well and the happy couple will abscond to Ireland for their honeymoon.
Groom's People
Jonathan met Joey (he/him) in first year of college, where they instantly became Super Smash Bros. arch rivals. When the controller can be coaxed out of his hands, he also faces Jonathan in Settlers of Catan, Betrayal at House on the Hill, and Legendary Showdown. When he met Margaret for the first time, he knew right away she was a great fit because she'd brought a board game. Joey's food hot-take is that you can never have too much cilantro in your tacos. No, seriously. We're talking like a 2:1 cilantro to meat ratio.
Groom's People
Jonathan has been friends with Brandon (he/him) since elementary school, but somehow they've only managed to write a single musical together so far. Whenever Brandon can make it into the cities, the gang usually all goes out for sushi. Whenever Jonathan & Margaret make it back home to Dawson, there are fewer (read: no) sushi options, so they usually play cards instead - Hand & Foot is a popular choice. When asked how the wedding could go hilariously wrong, Brandon foretold that a dog would appear and attack the wedding cake, getting it all over everywhere. Margaret & Jonathan would happily accept this compromise.
Groom's People
Jonathan became friends with Mike (he/him) by challenging him to a Nerf swordfight in their first month of college. Since then they've discussed more fiction (both popular and self-written) than could be counted. They share many interests, like yellow mustard, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and writing, but Mike owns more corgis (1). At wedding receptions, he can be counted on to rock out to most songs, but Shut Up And Dance is a particular favorite. When asked if he had any food allergies, Mike replied "Arsenic."
