Margaret and Lissa met on the UWM roommate postings and became fast friends! Their mutual love of crafting and kindness sparked a deep friendship that has lasted over a decade. After establishing her own violin studio, Lissa decided to change careers and is completing her work in Physics Education Research with an emphasis on astronomy.
Travis Carrier
Best Man
Zach and Travis met at graduate school at UNI. Many adventures have been had as friends, roommates, and sharing life milestones. Zach had the honor of being Travis’s best man in 2022 and now he extends the same honor to his friend of over 13 years. Travis now lives in Mason City with his wife and family.
Christina Belcher

Margaret and Christina were suitemates during their freshman year at Knox College in 2006. During move-in, Margaret’s sister saw Christina and her family moving in down the hall and predicted that Margaret and “that girl” would become friends. She was absolutely right. They have helped each other survive college, the job search, graduate school, and all of the growth that comes with adulthood. Christina is now in medical school in Kentucky.

Zach and Sam grew up together on the farm. Zach was in Sam's wedding as a groomsman when he married his wife Helene. Sam is Zach’s younger brother who shares his passion for computers and travel. Sam lives in Colorado with his wife.
Hayley Jackson

Margaret met Hayley during her orientation to UWM, where Hayley was already a student. They bonded over being two Illinois girls in Milwaukee who had family in small town Iowa and younger siblings with similar lives. From there, they became friends and later roommates. Hayley is the college archivist at Luther College in Decorah, where she lives with her fluff-ball cat James.

Zach and Matt met while in graduate school at UNI. Together with Travis, they have all been lifelong friends, sharing many adventures around UNI campus. Matt lives in Waverly with his wife and two children.
Jennifer Hardee

Margaret and Jennifer have known each other all of Margaret’s life. Jennifer is the best older sister to Margaret, teaching valuable life lessons and advice as needed (sometimes without knowing it). She is an elementary school teacher and lives on a farm near New Market, IA with her husband and three children.
Jacob Moye

Zach and Jacob have known each other their whole lives. Jacob is Zach’s older brother who shares his passion for hunting and the outdoors. He lives on a farm near Reinbeck with his wife and two children.

Margaret is proud to have Chloe as her niece. She is kind hearted and enjoys animals, music, and girls days with Aunt Margaret. She is currently in 4th grade.

Zach’s niece Ava is an adventurous girl of 6 who enjoys her time on the farm with her dad.

Margaret’s nephew Collin is very excited to be a ring bearer for Aunt Margaret. Five year old Collin loves being helpful around the house, Mario, and being outside on the farm.

Margaret and Richard have known each other their whole lives. Richard is Margaret’s younger brother. He loves playing his PlayStation 2, cooking pizza and chili, and Star Trek.
