What's the dress code?

Answer

Please wear what makes you feel good! For vibes, think "Brandi Carlile garden party whimsical." The marriers will be wearing a dress and suit, and the wedding party will be wearing a combination of cocktail dresses, jumpsuits, and blazers. The dance floor is on a slight slant, so please consider whether you'll be comfortable in heels. Where should I stay?

Answer

M+O's neighborhood does not have many hotels, but there are a few Airbnbs. We recommend using the map feature to search, or you're welcome to ask us whether a place you're considering is nearby. Many hotels are accessible by car. The hotels near the airport are about a 15-minute drive from our home and would offer a convenient option for your travel.

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

The ceremony and reception are separated by a drive, so having access to a car will make your life easier. Renting a car, coordinating carpools, and using Lyft are all options. Carpools and Lyft will help us manage parking. If you're interested in providing seats in a carpool or joining an existing car, communicate with Margaret or Olivia, and we'll connect you to the right folks. You can expect a Lyft between ceremony and reception to be about $12 before tip.

Is there parking at the ceremony and reception locations? Is it accessible?

Answer

Street parking is available for both events. M+O plan to block off a few spots closest to the ceremony and their house to provide accessible parking for those who need it. Because parking will be limited, we encourage folks to carpool, Lyft, or walk wherever possible.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Unfortunately, we don't know! In early September in Minneapolis, we can expect it to be fairly hot. We have 30 people crossing their fingers to prevent rain. If that strategy fails, all events will be held under tents or other coverings.

When will this event end?

Answer

We will wrap up the dancing by 10:30 PM. A group of us may find a bar to round out the night with after.

Should I bring a gift?

Answer

Gifts are, of course, optional! If you choose to bring one to the event, there will be a table inside the house during the reception.

Will this event be accessible?

Answer

M+O will reserve some parking spaces to reduce the amount of walking required. There are stairs required to enter the reception venue (M+O's backyard) from the front entrance, but a back entrance can be arranged without steps if you'd prefer. Seating will be available throughout the ceremony and reception. If you have additional accessibility requests or comments, please contact M and O, and we will address them.

Are there bathrooms at the ceremony location?

Answer

Unfortunately, the ceremony location does not have a bathroom. The ceremony will be short and sweet! In case of emergencies, there is a bathroom available at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden which is an eight minute walk or a two minute drive away.
