Also known as the Extraordinary Form, the Traditional Rite is a liturgy in the Roman Missal of the Catholic Church. Originally codified in 1570, and amended up until 1962, this was the most widely used Catholic liturgy until 1969 when the Novus Ordo was introduced, followed by a period of dramatic and widely variable liturgical reform. This liturgy is primarily celebrated in the Ecclesiastical Latin language. Limited Roman Missal booklets will be available during the Mass to follow along, but you are not required to respond to the celebrant and may simply participate in prayerful silence. For the reception of the Holy Eucharist, also known as Communion, we ask that only baptized Catholics who are actively practicing the faith, and in a state of grace, receive the Blessed Sacrament. However, you may cross your arms at the Communion rail to receive a blessing from the Priests. You are also welcome to stay in the pew if that makes you more comfortable. Ushers will be present to assist. Additionally, as the Church is a sacred space, we ask for no applause at any time during the Mass or Ceremony. Feel free to let it all out at the reception venue, however! :)
Church parking is available in the back if you enter through the alley off of South 6th Street. There is also street parking on South 5th Street and Historic Mitchell Street. There are plenty of parking garages and street parking options nearby to both the hotel and reception venue, or you can use the hotel parking valet for $38 per day.
You must RSVP by June 1st so that we may determine seating and food requirements. If you RSVP later than June 1st, we cannot guarantee you will be seated or offered drinks and dinner.
The dress code will be semi-formal for all events. Please note that modesty is expected in the sacred space of the church; having one's shoulders, back, and knees covered is standard.
Due to the limitations of the venue, we are only offering "plus one" invitations to guests in long-term relationships familiar to the wedding couple, with rare exceptions. Your RSVP selection in this website should include a guest invitation or the name of your significant other if this applies.
If you wish to provide a gift, we are requesting monetary donations to either our wedding or homeowner fund (See the "Registry" tab). A portion of the funds will be donated to charities of the couple's choice.
Children known to the couple have been included in the wedding invitations. Please do not bring kids if they are not included in your RSVP selection.
Please arrive no later than 20 minutes prior to the start of the Mass and Ceremony (i.e. 12:40 PM).
Catering will be selected (Qdoba Mexican Eats) to try to accommodate all varieties of diets and restrictions. This will include a meat and two vegetable options. If you believe that you have unique dietary needs that may not be covered, please express any concerns in your RSVP for the dinner itself. Outside food is also welcome for the most serious dietary requirements, but you will be responsible for any additional clean-up.
We will not be providing transportation during the events of the wedding. Please consider carpooling, although parking should be abundant.
