We met during our college years in Washington, DC in 1980 and fell for each other in the early ’80s in New York City… a romance that thrived in spite of the hours on the subway that separated us, with Joe living in the Bronx and Margaret in Brooklyn. We often found ourselves “meeting in the middle”, enjoying so much that Manhattan has to offer. Those memories made it easy to choose New York as our wedding location - this is where our story really started. Life took us on separate adventures: Margaret moved to Chicago, got married, had kids, and eventually divorced; Joe headed to Philly and Boston and somehow managed to dodge marriage while building his career over the years. Through the years we had reasons to reach out — a shared birthday that never failed to prompt a good wish, a Merry Christmas note, a quick “congrats” on a new job, house, or baby — little moments that kept the thread between us alive. Those small check-ins graduated from snail mail to email, then texts and FaceTime. In 2023 we reunited in Vermont, and the nostalgia quickly turned into something wonderfully real. Two years later, in that same cozy spot in Stowe, Joe asked Margaret to keep sharing birthdays—and everything else. We’re thrilled to celebrate this next chapter with the people who have been part of our stories from the start—and those who’ve joined us along the way. Thank you for your love and support; we can’t wait to share our day with you!
