Question

What's the suggested attire?

Answer

We want everyone to wear what they are comfortable and happy in! So we recommend clothing on the casual, outdoorsy side (think sundresses, nice jeans, etc. - campground chic). The ceremony will be held in a field, and afterward guests will have the option to eat and mingle inside or outside. No need to wear a fancy dress or suit jacket/ties (heels are definitely not recommended, since quests will walk a short trail from the parking area to the grassy ceremony field).

Question

What is the tent camping situation?

Answer

Tents can be pitched anywhere you'd like at Camp Sacajawea. There are also about a dozen, 14x14 canvas tents on platforms around the Camp, with camping mattresses, but we'd recommend bringing a tent or pad if you choose that option. Question

What are the cabins like?

Answer

There are several RUSTIC cabins with bunks beds (it was previously a girl scout camp, so the buildings are very basic and have not been well-maintained). They each have some form of heating and cooling and electricity, and some have small mini fridges and microwaves, but no water or bathrooms. They all have bunk beds made with 2x4s and plywood as the "bed" with thin pads that have seen better days. If you want to stay in a cabin, definitely bring your own sleeping pad, sleeping bag, etc. to make sure you are comfortable. If you don't feel like pitching a tent and you don't mind an old, minimal/rustic space, that isn't well-kept, they're an option. Question

Can I bring my RV/Camper?

Answer

Yes! There are spaces for RVs and campers, but note that while there are electric outlets in some areas, there are no hookups. Also important to note that you should have an adapter for plugging in, since the outlets are traditional ones and not the larger ones meant for campers.

Question

Are there bathrooms/showers for campers?

Answer

Yes. There is a building sort of in the middle of the camp that has a few bathroom stalls on one side, and shower stalls on the other side. It's VERY rustic.

Question

Do I need to bring my own tent/sleeping bag/pillow/blankets??

Answer

Yes, if you plan to stay at camp with us and you are not using one of the cabins or 14x14 canvas tents, then you will need to bring your own tent and pitch it. They also do not provide and sleeping bags, pillows, or blankets, so everyone will need to come prepared, as you would to any campground.

Question

Can I bring my dog(s)?

Answer

Yes! Camp Sacajawea is pet friendly and dogs are welcome. They just ask that pet owners clean up after their dogs so please remember to bring poop bags.

Question

What kinds of activities can you do at Camp Sacajawea?

Answer

Fishing, swimming (though it might be a bit chilly for that in mid-May), and boating - there is a small lake with a little beach, so everyone is welcome to make use of it. There are row boats, canoes, and paddle boats available, but you can also BYO kayak. They do not have fishing equipment, so that's BYO as well. Hiking - there are trails all around the 200-acre campground. Lawn games - like corn hole, horse shoes, etc. Camp fires - there are a few fire rings around, plus one large bonfire pit.
