Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Formal/Cocktail attire. This includes suits, slacks, dress pants, collared button-up shirts, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, and the like. Dress to impress! Please refrain from wearing any green tones, white, ivory, or cream colors.

Question

What do I do after the Ceremony ends?

Answer

After the Mass, we would like to take photos with all of our friends and family, so please stick around! We will be taking photos for up to 45 minutes after the ceremony. Once you have taken photos with us, feel free to head out until the reception or stick around and mingle.

Question

What do I do between the Ceremony & Reception?

Answer

During the gap between the end of the Ceremony and the start of the Reception, feel free to go to a nearby restaurant or bar for a drink or a light lunch. You could even go home or to a nearby friend or relative’s house to take a nap, freshen up, or do an outfit change. For those who would just like to hang around the Reception venue before the party begins at 5pm, there will be a Pre-reception Gathering Space available at the reception venue from 3pm - 5pm with provided refreshments and light bites. The space can comfortably accommodate about 60 people at a time. Please note that you are NOT required to attend the pre-reception gathering, but are welcome to if you so choose.

Question

How long is the wedding ceremony?

Answer

Catholic Nuptial Masses are about 45-60 minutes long, as it is a full Catholic Mass.

Question

Can I take communion during the mass?

Answer

You may only take communion if you are a confirmed Catholic in good standing. This is a sacred tradition in the Catholic Church and we kindly ask everyone to be respectful of this. If you are not Catholic, you may remain seated during communion or go up and receive a blessing from the Priest by crossing your arms over your chest in an 'X' formation.

Question

Can I bring my kids to the ceremony?

Answer

Of course! We understand that it can be hard to have your kids sit still or be quiet for the entire duration of the Mass, but don't worry, there are "cry rooms" available in the church for that very reason. A "cry room" is a separate room next to the pews of the church that is lined with windows so that anyone in the room can still view and participate in the Mass without disturbing anyone.

Question

Will there be an open bar at the reception?

Answer

Kind of. We have pre-paid for 212 alcoholic beverages. If we exceed this number the bar will start charging the guests individually for any drinks they order. All non-alcoholic beverages will be complimentary for guests throughout the entirety of the reception. We ask that you have fun and drink responsibly!

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be held indoors at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. The reception will also be held indoors at Dolce Events in Scottsdale.

Question

What about gifts?

Answer

Gifts are welcomed but not expected. We do have a gift registry that you can access on this website on the "Registry" tab if you so choose. We will also have a gift/card table at our wedding reception.
