Wedding Party

Our wedding will be held at Casa Lejana, 15725 Dent Ln, Helotes, TX 78023, which is one of the few historic hacienda style homes still remaining in the San Antonio area. The house was built to serve as a stop for cattle drives and stagecoach travellers.
   In 1946 the hacienda and 200 acres of surrounding land were sold to famed aviator Christie Mathewson and his wife Lola after his European tour of duty. They used the house for entertaining,  hosting the most elaborate and talked about parties in the area. 
   In 1948 the ranch was used as a movie set for the Western "Echo Ranch" starring Red River Dave and theTexas Tophands. 
   The hacienda was purchased by Christopher Goldsbury Sr. who ran it as a restaurant and inn. He named the property "Casa Lejana", (far away from home) in Spanish. 
Today Casa Lejana is run by a local family who live in the main house and rent the charming casitas to travellers through Airbnb.
