A little bit of sweet and lotta bit of sassy. This young woman is my sister by blood, and my best friend by choice. She has been by my side for literally every milestone that ever meant anything to me. Including but not limited to he births of my children, meeting the love of my life, my first little apartment, to buying my dream house. I can’t imagine growing up without my baby sister. She made my awkward childhood, less awkward for sure. I can’t think of a better person to be my maid of honor. Amazing loving mother, amazingly loyal sister, and just an all around great person.

What an amazing woman, mother and wife. I have watched my little big cousin/sister blossom like a rose through the concrete. Mimi is a very hard worker. She taught me how to save money, and the art of negotiations. I am older but she’s someone I’ve always looked up to. When everyone was trying to get our stuff together, she was together. PeriodT! Yes she wears many hats, and now, I’m so honored to have her as my matron of honor.

My cousin/sister is one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever known. She’s a great mother, and great person. She works so hard, and watching her reach her goals one at a time, makes me so proud. She’s the sweetest person ever, and then she’ll read you to filth so do NOT piss her off. She’s my hookah partner and makeup buddy. And we have had one hell of a ride together. I’ve spent weeks at a time at her place. I was there so much she just gave me a key. Got tired of getting up to open the door I guess. Lol. We’ve been together since we were little kids, but I’d like to think it was spending all of my early 20’s with her, that really shaped parts of my life. I am better because of our relationship.

We call Boop ”mama kris,” because when we cut up too much, she gets us in line. I don’t know if it’s because she’s a teacher and is used to directing kids, or if we actually act like kids. She is one of the absolute most loyal, loving, forgiving, beautiful people I ever had the pleasure of loving. My sister from another mister. Deanna always has our best interest at heart. We’ve been thru a lot. We’ve laughed, cried, and and had plenty of hangovers together. What an amazing adventure.

Go best friend that’s my best friend. Although our lives have put some distance between us, she will always be my love. I’ll never forget how she and her daughter was there for me when I needed it. I would’ve never gotten through my Orleans street days without her help. The odds we’re stacked against us. We met during one of her “sneakers” episodes. (Insider.) It’s actually a very hilarious story when we tell it. But I’ll save that for another time. Even though it’s an unconventional love story, we prevailed. And she knows I have her back like a bra strap. I love her so friggin much.

My big sister. She has always been like a second mother to me. Practically raised me. Always providing the best of examples of how to be a good wife, good mother and all around good person. She’s who I call when I need to be talked down from kicking someone’s butt. Lol. Always the voice of reason. Always. She has overcome so much in her life. I channel her strength whenever my spirit feels weak. She fills me up with her words of wisdom every time. I wanted her as my matron of honor too, but i know she has a lot of responsibilities. I will settle for her being a bridesmaid.

My first born. I had Nyah at a very young age. And although I wouldn’t recommend teenage pregnancy, I wouldn’t change a thing. We had the opportunity to grow up together. She even helped me with this website by fixing all my typos. We’ve shared clothes, shoes, matching hairstyles and now, she gets to share my special day by being my bridesmaid. Nyah has been with me through everything. Giving me the motivation I needed to keep pushing when I felt like I couldn’t push any farther. Nyah is and will always be my baby. My sour patch. I love her more than she’ll ever know.

Princess “Prinny” Thomas

My Prinny. She’s my niece but you can’t tell me she’s not my daughter. She was my baby from day 1. I would always go get her when taking Nyah out. So they’ve always been close. They even call each other sisters. I’m so happy she’s come to live with us. I feel like she fits right in our little family. Prinny is a smart, beautiful, loving young lady with endless potential. I love my daughter so much and it fills me with so much joy that she’s able to stand with me as I marry the love of my life.

One of my closest friends. This beautiful, young, vibrant, energetic unstoppable woman, became my friend many years ago. Its been so long that neither of us remember how we met. Lol. She’s always been loving and very understanding. Whenever I call she’s along for the ride, PeriodT. If I can count on anyone, it’s her. She’s a great friend, great mother, and she’s never ever given me a reason to question her loyalty. I am honored to have her next to me on one of the best days of my life.

🎶 It’s so amazing to be loved. I’ll follow you to the moon and the stars above. 🎶 My big sister, my love, my sour patch whom I am sooooo over protective of has been my role model for as long as I can remember. Coming from where we come from, and seeing her navigate one of the hardest dealt hands I’ve ever seen, made me believe. Her spirit, her faith, her strength has been something that has given me hope through my most trying times. She’s can at times be a brick wall, but if you’re persistent enough, loving enough, patient enough, and lucky enough, she’ll expose her vulnerability , and her walls will come tumbling down like Jericho. When she loves you, it’s all soooo worth it. Her heart is big and pure. And I’ve seen it first hand.
