He who finds a wife, finds a good thing and receives favor from the Lord. Proverbs 18:22. “They say 3 times a charm” Before we formally met our body and souls was in the same place. Unknowingly she was going to be my future wife. The first time I saw her was at a job we shared together, the second time was at jimmy squids. I didnt know until I looked at memories in my phone and she was right next to me. 3rd time a charm, My best friend joc was on the phone unknowingly it was her on the phone I got on it. Introducing myself to a person I’ve been around before which lead to the woman becoming my fiancé. The first time we met was also unexpected we were both on 7th & Cleveland July 11th, 2019. I never thought I would see her this day until I saw her conversion with my brother Brodie. I saw her and had to introduce myself. We talked for a period of time then we parted ways. I got a message from her later on in the night wishing me a safe night. It was magic ever since. Two souls that came from a broken place striving to heal our hearts to be a better person for each other. Raised on Survival and Love they say two can’t coexist. But we are here to tell you it can. With prayer, patience, understanding and forgiveness its possible. We come from two different worlds but we taught each other how to coexist in one. Before having children of my own I was blessed to met 5 children that helped me become the man I am today. Ive witnessed each stage preparing me for fatherhood, we now share 2 boys. Throughout the years we’ve weathered the storm. Rain or Shine we always chose US. Never giving up on our love & foundation we decided to move across the country to Houston,TX. Still learning, Still growing & Still choosing US. Marriage is on my mind. Im thinking of ways to lock my family all the way in. Something our children could really see in a healthy manner. On January 17th, 2026 I proposed to Nakia. I invited my mother & sister out to help me with this moment. Although she is nosey, I still managed to surprise her by getting down on one knee. She said YES. Newly engaged life has been wonderful. We beat all the odds that were stacked against us. With God, love, understanding, & forgiveness. I couldn’t have found a better person to share life with. From three chance encounters, to a lifetime of love and God’s favor brought us together and forever starts now🙏🏽🫶🏽💍🖤 -Marcus Lloyd Paul
