Lana and Marcus met through a mutual friend at a networking event. Before long, it was time for their lunch to end but Marcus invited Lana for a drink and they ended up spending the next 8+ hours together stopping at different hot spots around Atlanta getting to know each other. But let’s rewind to a week before that dinner. Marcus accidentally sent Lana a video of the engagement ring, thinking he was texting his cousin. As soon as she received it, Lana panicked, quickly realizing the message wasn’t meant for her. At first glance, she loved the ring—but she couldn't believe she was seeing it before she was supposed to! She awkwardly told Marcus to check his text messages to reveal what had happened. Marcus walked out of the room and screamed upon realizing what had just happened. Marcus immediately left their apartment to grab lunch for himself, Lana, and a friend and the three said nothing about it. Marcus considered canceling the proposal altogether because the surprise had been compromised. But a close friend convinced him to stick to the plan, reminding him that the moment would still be meaningful. Back to the dinner—after enjoying a beautiful meal and a bottle of Chenin Blanc, they wrapped up with dessert and paid the check. Lana thought the night was over. But as they stood to leave, Marcus got down on one knee and asked Lana to marry him. She said yes.
