Where should we stay?

Answer

We want to accommodate everyone as best as we can but also allow you to make this trip your own- we’ll give you suggestions for where to stay and things to do but the rest is up to you! Since there are so many hotels at various rates in the area, we decided not to do a room block anywhere in particular. We also highly recommend discussing with other guests about sharing an Airbnb. The wedding, reception and most of the festivities will take place in the heart of the French Quarter. If you are visiting for the first time, it’s a great area to experience the city with many great places in walking distance. Sure, Bourbon Street gets wild, but it is also safe and close to many of our events. We also plan on doing some partying on Frenchman Street which is just on the cusp of the Marigny area which wouldn't be a far cab ride, so either is a good choice. Check out the map on our travel page for a better idea.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

The ceremony will start promptly at four o'clock, guests may arrive anytime after half past three.

What should I wear?

Dress fancy, it’s our wedding! New Orleans has beautiful spring weather in March as long as we dodge the rain, just make sure to bring comfy shoes. You’ll do a lot of walking during your trip in general, but even the parade may include some cobblestone streets so consider wearing or at least bringing flats.

How will we get from the ceremony to the reception?

Oh, we’re so glad you asked! After we say "I do", The Pres Hall Band, the newlyweds and their guests will form a parade to the reception. Yes, you read that right. We will be having a traditional second line parade complete with a live brass band. No, this is not a joke. The distance between the two places is half a mile, but we will take our time strolling along, dancing and throwing shit at strangers. Don’t forget you can drink in the streets in New Orleans so make sure to take yours with you!

Nope, those were purely for our amusement. East Coast, baby!
