We're Getting Married!

Kayla and David both went to ECU and shared multiple mutual friends but their paths did not cross until August of 2020!

Bulldog in South End. Kayla had been out to dinner and drinks with some girlfriends celebrating Zoe's birthday and David had just finished a round of golf with the boys. Since Kayla knew a lot of David's friends from ECU the two groups mingled for the evening. Dave made sure to ask for Kayla's number before the end of the night.

Kayla and David go on their first date to Craft Tasting Room and as far as Kayla was concerned she was smitten. They talked for hours and shared stories about their families, friends and how they both came to live in Charlotte. David asked Kayla what he thought were the some of the important questions. "Are you from Charlotte? Did you play any sports growing up? Did you go to church growing up?" They now joke about this because apparently David was so nervous he forgot he asked that and he asked it on their second date as well! They made it "official" a few weeks later.

It was a pretty normal Friday in the Marcotte/Gabriel Household- they had purchased their first home in July of that year. David did do some pacing around the house and took extra care getting ready, Kayla sort of knew something may be up! Earlier in the month their friends Ashelynn and Bryan McNinch and Sarah and Earle Aube invited them to dinner and to the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden to look at the Christmas lights. Little did Kayla know, it was all a set up! David planned the entire thing and even more than Kayla could have ever dreamed of! Their best friends, Matthew, Sean and Zoe were there waiting for them in the bushes, and he even got our talented friend Lindy(Sean's wife) to capture the special moment! After some champagne they left for Craft, their first date spot, to continue celebrating where David had gathered all their friends and family to congratulate them on their engagement! He even managed to get Kayla's Mom and Grandparents in from Washington! It was by far the best night of their lives, thus far :)

Kayla and David are so excited for the day that they get to begin their married life together! They are beyond blessed you are joining to help celebrate their love!
