Amanda was a single parent who needed a barber for Aiden. Her judgement on who to take him to wasn’t based on haircuts, it was on who was the cutest.. (side note, he was also great at haircuts). After Aiden’s haircut she texted Mike thanking him, which apparently isn’t something people do. Fast forward to a few more haircuts, and then some drinks, Amanda drunk texted Mike a really long “heyyyyyy” one night in October 2015. After some more awkward texts, Mike finally asked her on a date to Applebees for dinner. When Amanda ordered chicken strips as her meal, Mike knew she was the one.
When Amanda received her Nana’s wedding ring, she knew she wanted to turn it into something of her own; so that, her Nana would always be with her. Later on, Amanda and Mike, made an appointment to go to the jewelers to learn about diamonds and pick out every detail of the new ring. Little did they know- Mother Nature had snow in mind, but they made the trip anyways. The whole experience made Amanda feel like the star in her favorite movie Sweet Home Alabama. They had the entire jewelry store to themselves. Amanda had a very specific idea of what she was looking for and the store had a setting just like it. The setting only required the center diamond so they decided to save the other diamonds for something special later. Mike figured they wouldn’t get the ring back for a few weeks…turned out it was ready in a few hours! While waiting, they decided to go to Soutcenter to kill some time seems how the kids were at their Grandparents house. After going back to the jewelers to pick up their ring, Amanda wouldn’t take it off until Mike made her give it to him. When they arrived to pick up the kids, everyone wanted to see the ring. After everyone looked it it, Aiden told Mike that he just needs to propose because it wouldn’t be fair to wait any longer. So Mike got down on one knee and asked Amanda to marry him with both kids and Amanda’s parents- it was perfect.
