On a November night in 2017, Marco and Emma went to the Mohegan Sun casino to celebrate their friends' birthdays, unaware of each other's existence. They both wound up at the same club where Marco spotted Emma busting some sweet moves on the dance floor, but by the time he got up the courage to approach her, she was gone. Hours later, Marco was on his way out of the casino, kicking himself for missing his opportunity, when he spotted Emma again at the craps table. This was the time to shoot his shot (no pun intended). As he stood awkwardly near the craps table, Emma started beelining towards... Johnny Rocket's, for a late night cheeseburger. This was it. Marco walked up to Emma and introduced himself while she waited for her burger, the sparks started flying, and the rest is history.

One of Marco and Emma's favorite games to play is the word game Boggle. Their parents also enjoy playing (some with more success than others). Marco concocted an elaborate ruse to get all the parents together (Emma's mom in person, her dad and Marco's parents virtually) for a family game of Boggle. After about 45 minutes, Marco suggested they switch to Super Big Boggle- a bigger board with more letters. Buried in the letters were the words "Will You Marry Me." Much to Marco's surprise, they managed to play the full 4-minute round without Emma discovering the phrase, so it was up to Marco to announce he found a really good word. He pointed it out on the board while dropping to a knee. She said yes.
