It was a Saturday night out on the town when Marco noticed Amanda at the bar he was working at. She didn’t pay much attention to him because she figured he was a player. Years had passed and every now and then whenever Marco would see Amanda, he would ask her on a date to show he was more than his reputation. She always declined. One Christmas day, the stars seemed to align. Amanda sent out a mass Christmas text which Marco thought was written solely for him. He replied asking her one last time if she would do him the honour of going on a date. Amanda finally accepted. On their first date, it was clear they were meant to be. Marco had told his friends that Amanda was the one for him. The rest is history.

Amanda was planning Marco's 30th birthday party at the William Grey Hotel in the old port of Montreal. Little did she know Marco was planning something of his own... The day finally came. Marco's 30th birthday party! Everyone was arriving and the champagne was flowing. The only person missing was Marco’s sister Diana. Amanda was nervous, wondering why it was taking her so long to get there! Meanwhile Diana was in their hotel room sticking balloons to the wall! Finally she arrived, everyone enjoyed their meal and Amanda and Marco headed back to the room after dinner to change. Amanda walks in to find blue balloons all over the floor and thinks to herself oh wow the hotel decorated the room for Marco's birthday! She continues to walk and sees WILL YOU MARRY ME written in balloons on the wall, turns around and finds Marco on one knee asking her to marry him!! Of course she said YES! The blue balloons were meaningful because blue was something her and her nonno shared and Marco knew it would mean the world to her if he managed to include blue in his proposal and it did!
