We met at South Suburban College in 2014. A friend of mine invited me to sit at a cafeteria table where Marcelus was seated. When I saw Marcelus, I was immediately captivated by his handsomeness. We spent so much time in the cafeteria over the next several months, lying our heads on one another and talking. So much so that Marcelus started calling me “Chocolate Milk.” We continued to be friends until 2018 when we decided to start dating, and the rest is history.

Marcelus planned an outing to the Lakefront. As we walked, we watched yachts while discussing our future. We stopped, and Marcelus got down on one knee. Surprisingly, I turned my head and saw my mother, aunt, uncle, and brother watching. My heart was filled with joy from the excitement of our engagement, looking around and seeing the beautiful smiles and happy cheers from my family and the spectators. Afterward, we enjoyed a nice ride on the Cycle Richsaw and ate a delicious celebratory dinner at Grand Lux Cafe. We're excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in October!
