They met on a dating app called Bumble. Monica’s friend, Christina, also known as Bourbon, made her a profile on Monica’s 28th birthday and told her to get back out there and start dating! She swiped right on Marcelo after reading his profile and seeing his fishing pictures. She loved that he had a hobby! They soon got to chatting. Well, mostly Marcelo! He asked her out on a date after his 30th birthday to his favorite Brewery in Tampa, Six Ten Brewery. They talked for 5+ hours and hit it off from the start. They’ve been inseparable ever since. From traveling the world, Brewery hopping, buying a home, and now tying the knot! They can’t wait for what their future holds together!
On July 4, 2019, Monica and I were in NYC celebrating. I knew then not only would we be seeing fireworks in the sky, but that Monica would be my biggest firework that night filling my heart with love & joy. I will never forget when Monica’s Aunt Carola asked me, "Are you going to Marry my niece?” and I said, “Absolutely, I’m going to marry her.” Here I am 2 and a half years later, and I can’t say it enough of how honored & blessed I am to call Monica my fiancé. Ever since our flight touched back down in Tampa, it was off to the races with the proposal planning. I started searching for a photographer in Asheville, North Carolina since I knew asking random tourists to take photos would be at bit too much. I picked the Biltmore Estate to “pop the question” because the estate is just as gorgeous & breath taking as Monica. November 22, 2020 was the most exciting and monumental day in my life. With this gorgeous ring hidden in my jacket pocket, we were off to the Biltmore. Upon arrival, we toured the grounds, enjoying the scenery, & waiting for Ryan to discreetly get into position to capture the magical moment. I looked up to the top of the hill that had a gazebo that overlooks the estate & captures the entire grounds. I texted Ryan, “This is the spot.” It wasn’t an easy trek making it up the hill, but it was worth every second. Monica said, “Stop checking fantasy football & get off your phone,” once we had made it to the top. Little did she know it was about to be a Super Bowl type of celebration shortly there after. I laid eyes on Ryan coming up the hill & he gave me a quick grin. I dropped down on one knee & asked Monica Elise Ramos if she would be my wife. Hysterically, ugly crying, she said YES! After, I said to Ryan “Ahh shit I left my sunglasses on. My in-laws are going to hate that.” We laughed & continued the celebration. The rest is yet to be written in history & I’m looking forward to having you all apart of that & our Holy sacrament of marriage this November.
