How we met...

On a chill summer day at my place on Ohop Lake my friend Matt asked me if I wanted to go to the Jay-Z concert on December 13th with him and his wife, Marissa. I said "sure, why not". We bought tickets and I forgot... Come November, I received a notification for the upcoming concert and decided to invite my friend, Ash. I knew Ash would want to go so it was an easy choice. We met at my place in Renton and my dad drove us down dropping us off at an Irish Pub near the venue. The pub was dead so we decided to walk closer to the concert. We walked by Agave Cocina and Tequila Bar. It was packed, but through the window I saw my buddy, Jon, so we went in to say a quick hello. Jon asked us to stay and offered to buy us whatever we'd like to drink. He proceeded to introduce me to his wife - Brie, friend - Chris, and Chris' girlfriend - Marcella (or so I thought...). She and I began to chat and the topics of New York and jet skis came up, intriguing me. I asked her what she did for work and she replied "I service kids". I stopped her there and said let's try this again. "You service kids???" She refined her answer letting me know she works with kids in Special Education to ensure they receive their services. My interest was growing and the drinks were flowing. At one point I told Marcella "we're dating" and remember whispering in Ash's ear "she's fine". When Jon offered Ash and me tickets to join his group in the suite I couldn't say no. Meanwhile, Matt and Marissa were trying to connect with us so we parted ways planning to meet back at the suite later on. Once in the venue I received a phone call from an unknown number. I answered and it was Marcella. She immediately said "miss me?!" to which I replied "of course!" She then got to the point of her call stating Jon had given away too many suite tickets and they needed help getting in. Ultimately, they got in with the help of another friend, but I now had her number!! ;) ... and so our love story began.

The proposal...

June 6, 2018 - Levi had been in Oklahoma City rooting on his nieces in their softball tournament. I came home early from work to wait for his return at my place. Dan (Levi's dad) and he were just a few miles out of town. The plan was for Dan to drop Levi off at my house as we were beyond excited to see each other. We had been apart for 6 days! As soon as Levi walked in the door we embraced in the entryway of my house. His dad said a quick hello then left (in retrospect, he knew what was about to happen and was getting out of the way). After a long hug and some kisses, Levi abruptly and unexpectedly dropped to his knee! I was shocked!! Tears of joy immediately began streaming down my face. Before he was able to say anything at all, I said to him "Is this real?!" He responded with "yes" and then launched into the most heartfelt, sweetest, thoughtful proposal - most of which I forget - but absolutely do remember the look on his face. The love, dedication, commitment, vulnerability... Levi's face said everything. I had just been proposed to in the most romantic way from the man of my dreams! Of course, I said "yes"! He placed not one engagement ring, but four beautiful rose gold diamond bands on my finger and we embraced again. This was the real deal. I had no clue it was coming and am beyond excited to now be marrying my soulmate, my boo, my Clyde - Levi Daniel Tyree.

What's next...

This past August we bought our first home together in Kennydale, Wa - a nice neighborhood above the southeast end of Lake Washington. Our house is a cozy rambler with an amazing vista looking to the west. On a clear day we can see the Olympic Mountains and almost every day we witness breathtaking sunsets. We also bought an Okanagan camper van that we look forward to taking on many adventures both near and far. Our dog, G-boo, is the greatest companion and loves a good road trip. After the wedding we plan to expand our family adding more humans (not just dogs). We are very excited to go and celebrate our marriage in Aruba! A little history and gorgeous swimming beaches will surely do the trick. We feel very blessed as a couple and look forward to celebrating with you all this July!
